We are seeking Prep Cooks & Dishwashers!!

Job Summary: The Prep Cook assists in the preparation and cooking of food in a restaurant or kitchen setting. This role is essential for ensuring that ingredients are prepped and ready for use, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of food service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredients as directed by the chef or kitchen manager.
  • Cooking Assistance: Assist in cooking and plating dishes as needed, ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met.
  • Inventory Management: Help maintain stock levels of ingredients, and assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, keeping work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently; report any maintenance issues to the chef or kitchen manager.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment preferred, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfortable working in a hot, noisy kitchen environment.
