We are seeking Prep Cooks & Dishwashers!!
Job Summary: The Prep Cook assists in the preparation and cooking of food in a restaurant or kitchen setting. This role is essential for ensuring that ingredients are prepped and ready for use, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of food service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredients as directed by the chef or kitchen manager.
- Cooking Assistance: Assist in cooking and plating dishes as needed, ensuring food quality and presentation standards are met.
- Inventory Management: Help maintain stock levels of ingredients, and assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, keeping work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently; report any maintenance issues to the chef or kitchen manager.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment preferred, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
- Comfortable working in a hot, noisy kitchen environment.
